Drey Andersson is a music producer and sound designer based in Berlin, Germany, with 20 years in the music industry. He co-wrote and co-produced Shekhinah’s "Different" (feat. Mariechan), a #1 record in South Africa certified Gold by RiSA, taken from the album Rose Gold, which won Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Newcomer of the Year at the 2018 South African Music Awards. The song has passed 14 million streams. He won the 2023 Beat League Beat Battle in Berlin, produces select artist projects each year, designs sound libraries and Serum preset banks, coaches producers 1-on-1, and founded Signal Flow, an agency for audio brands and synth manufacturers.
I picked up a guitar at 15 and never stopped chasing sound. At 19, in 2006, I ran a remix channel that pulled half a million YouTube plays before Sony BMG shut it down. At 28 a guitar idea from my Berlin studio became "Different", a #1 in South Africa. In 2020 I stepped away from music, built a marketing agency and did not open my DAW for three years. In 2023 I walked into the Beat League Beat Battle in Berlin after 24 months without making music and took first place.
Coming back, I knew what had pulled me in all along: the sound itself. So today I do both. I produce records, and I design the sounds they are built from.
